We have started our #DHH21 journey on May 19th, 2021 and continuing it today on May 20th! We are the FloPo group (Flows of Power), and we are studying the LGTBQIA+ rights and equality legislation in Finland around social media campaigns and how they have created discussion in both traditional and social media. Yesterday was the first time we met together in GatherTown due to the on-going Covid pandemic, which has restricted us from meeting in person, but no pandemic is strong enough to stop interdisciplinary studies in our modern world!
Today, we started working with our data set that contains several Finnish news outlets articles, editorials, and opinion pieces. We also presented the other DHH21 participants with our initial presentation that contained our approach and methodology when dealing with this subject, lots of ideas, but also a lot of challenges ahead.
Currently, we’re constructing initial lists of keywords to be used in queries to our data sources.
